Vision of OFDM
? OFDM is eager:-
? To see a peaceful and highly advanced Ethiopia in the fields of education science and technology with sustainable economic and social developments in order to maximize the satisfaction of the needs of all its citizens.
? To see Ethiopia fully committed to democracy and respect to the inalienable rights of humankind with particular emphasis of giving the Oromo majority which has so for been denied its rightful political place in the country duely recognizing its past, present and future contributions to the welfare and maintenance of Ethiopia.
? To see the Ethiopian societies enjoying equal rights: in politics, to property, before the law, in the supremacy of the law and independent judiciary.
? To see Ethiopia as a country in which the peoples of the various nations and nationalities fully respect one another as well as each other's culture, religion and value system for mutual benefit.
Mission statements of OFDM
?As a registered political movement in Ethiopia, OFDM:
? Will tirelessly work to make Ethiopia a strong federalist country committed to the basic tenets and principles of Federalism respecting ethnic identity of the nations and nationalities enjoying complete autonomy without any interference in the affairs of each other.
? Is fully committed to undertake continuous effort to make Ethiopia a country where democratic rights shall be fully respected and the people shall be empowered in order, to elect and be elected with the principles
of Universal suffrage at all administrative levels in conformity with the Ethiopian constitution.
? Will work hard so that equal treatment be given and justice delivered to oppressed peoples before the law is respecting all rights to be elected to the highest political office of the nation.
? Will do its best to promote and enhance the economic development of Ethiopia with the aim of poverty reduction and elimination of deprivation so that all the citizens will be able to attain the same status in the standard of living with the developed world.
? Will develop strategic plans to expand education with refined polices at primary, secondary and tertiary levels with proper and balanced production of human power in both quality and quantity pertinent to the needs of the Ethiopian society.
? To develop and enhance internet and media communication in all regional states in Ethiopia as well as improve road and air transportation for efficient internal and external contacts and communications.
